I followed this article: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/ALS … o_Sound.3F to configure Alsa, but I'm still not getting any sound, despite following all the troubleshooting sections.
The PC has an onboard Intel 82810 sound "card"

Okay I got sound when I logged off from KDE, but I still don't get any sound when I play a CD in ksCD.
[Fixed] I fixed it my turning on Full Duplex in Sounds Settings.
