So what do you recommend for running 32 bit apps? lib32-* or the 32 bit arch chroot method?

They are both very easy to do and maintain.
A lot of people like the chroot method, because it is "cleaner" and if you want to go back to 64-bit only, you just have to delete the chroot directory.
On the other hand, if you are only using 1 or 2 32-bit apps, I would say just do the 32lib stuff, because it will take up less disk space. Unless you have tons of disk space and/or really prefer the "cleanliness" of the chroot.
I, personally, chose the chroot approach because it will be easy to get rid of in the future and I don't have to worry about weird dependencies.

Well... When I think about it the only thing that I'm going to use in 32 bit is wine...
But the chroot method does seam cleaner...
