Merging two empty partitions?
I'm trying to install Xp (don't hurt me!) so I can play some games like oblivion and Guild Wars, yes I know they both run fine in wine but with my older graphics card even with all the performance improvements they still lag a bit. So I shrunk my /home partition down and gave Xp 50Gb.
Although now I have 4 main partitions and Xp won't install...so since my system has 3Gb of Ram and I've never dented my swap at all, I decided to delete it. Now I have 2 partitions of unallocated space and Xp still refuses to install >.>
So is it possible to merge these two partitions?

This won't be easy. You can't add that to sda4. You can add only to the next partition before or after the allocated space. So, you can add that to sda1 and sda2. You would have to add it sda2, then shrink it (so the unallocated space precedes sda3), enlarge sda3, shrink it (so the unallocated space precedes sda4) and then enlarge sda4. This will take a huge amount of time and I would just let it go if I were you. What does 500 mb mean to a 50GB partition ?

the reason winXP wont install (probably) is because it needs its partition to encompass the first 50mb or the hdd its a design flaw in XP

No, it doesn't. I've successfully installed XP into a partition that was after a 2gb swap partition.

I just want to get rid of that partition so I'll only have 4 partitions, so I'll add the unallocated space to sda2 and hopefully Xp will be nice and install
