Hi. I've got some strange problem with my SB Live!24bit external while trying to get surround sound through my 5.1 Creative speakers. Everything worked fine unless I've upgraded my ststem to kernel 2.6.25.10-1, then it;s stopped working. Sound looks like it's being playeb but no sound comes from speakers, everything is unmuted. When I delete .asoundrc file from my home folder sound comes nomrally but, only from front speakers and subwoofer, 2.1, rear and central speakers silence. I'm using this card with my aptop, I've even set SB as card0 and intergrated card as card1 by adding right lines into modprobe.conf, but nothing has changed.
My asoundrc fie looks like this:
pcm.!surround51 {
type plug
slave.pcm "dmixer"
}
pcm.!default {
type plug
slave.pcm "dmixer"
route_policy duplicate
}
pcm.dmixer {
type dmix
ipc_key 321456
ipc_key_add_uid true
slave {
pcm "hw:0,0"
channels 6
period_time 0
period_size 1024
buffer_size 4096
rate 96000
}
## 0 = Left, 1 = Right, 2 = Centre, 3 = Subwoofer , 4 = Rear Left, 5 = Rear right.
bindings {
0 0
1 1
2 4
3 5
4 2
5 3
}
}
ctl.dmixer {
type hw
card 0
}
Had no idea what's happend that it stopped working. Can anyone help me, please? Moreover, on other distros like Fedora9, PLD it works perfectly.

Do you have a dualboot with one of those distro's? You could check the soundconfig in there to compare with you Archconfig.
For lack of better words: chair, never, toothbrush, really. Ohw, and fish!

Comparing to PLD, loaded modules, sound settings everything seems to by identical. Whatsmore, until I've upgraded kernel (one of the 2.6.25 edition) to the newest available in repo, surround worked on Arch flawelessly.
