[SOLVED] Watermark Desktop

Hello,

Is there a package which watermarks the desktop with useful information such as your username/IP etc?  I believe "WaterMark" does this but I can't get it to work.

Thanks.

Re: [SOLVED] Watermark Desktop

That looks perfect.  However after installation I get:
Conky: no readable personal or system-wide config file found
Any ideas?

Re: [SOLVED] Watermark Desktop

touch ~/.conkyrc

Then copy and paste a config file from the website or from /usr/share/conky (probably in that location. i don't use conky)

Re: [SOLVED] Watermark Desktop

The touch command doesn't appear to do anything and /usr/share/conky doesn't exist.

touch creates a file if it doesn't exist. Anyway, I don't believe Conky comes with a default config. Its man page describes everything it does though; just read down the list and add the things you want to see.

Re: [SOLVED] Watermark Desktop

If you are using KDE you could try superkaramba, while if you are using Gnome try gdesklets.
