[SOLVED] Broken libraries or something

For every (graphical app) package I've installed so far (Xchat, Thunar, Pidgin) except firefox, I get an error whenever I try to run their commands, even using the /usr/bin/NAME equivalent. This is the error :

process 17972: D-Bus library appears to be incorrectly set up; failed to read machine uuid: Failed to open "/var/lib/dbus/machine-id": No such file or directory
See the manual page for dbus-uuidgen to correct this issue.
D-Bus not built with -rdynamic so unable to print a backtrace
Aborted

I have no idea what this means, and when I try to look up the man page on dbus-uuidgen up on this, it says it doesn't exist. What do you think is wrong?

Re: [SOLVED] Broken libraries or something

OK, I solved this elsewhere. The solution I used was :

sudo dbus-uuidgen --ensure

Thanks to all that looked
