Sorry about the vague title, but I really don't know how to word this.
E17 normally maximizes windows as per my settings, which is to say, the top of the title bar stops at the top of the screen and the bottom of the window stops at the bottom of the screen. Duh, right? Well, if I open a large video with SMplayer or a large PDF with Evince for the first time, E17 automagically maximizes the window to the bottom of the Ttitle bar and the bottom of the window goes below the screen. Of course this means I can't resize it unless I move the window down or up to resize then move it into place. I've found no setting so far that fixes this. This has been a persistent problem but just started to annoy me now that I'm opening a bunch of PDFs. Any ideas?

I don't think it is a E17 issue, I have had these problems with GNOME too. Can you try it in another WM/DE to be sure?

That's after they're open for the first time. With that being said, both Evince and SMplayer also have this functionality built in.

Your user name was so much fun to type.
Sure enough Openbox, while exhibiting slightly different behavior (the top of the window is correct, but the bottom is well below the screen), has the same problem. It's nice that E17 has a really easy way to move whole windows around.
Marking this as "DUMB".
Thanks for the help.
