Ok, I just installed Arch, and I'm really liking it, except for the fact that I can't get NM(NetworkManager) to work. I need NM to connect to my Wi-Fi network. I connects to the wired one when I plug it in. When I run nm-applet, it says "Network Manager is not running"

Add dhcdbd and networkmanager (in that order) to your daemons array in rc.conf.

NetworkManager is a daemon, you must enable at start up. Then, if the applet does not show up, you can run nm-applet.

does not work. I followed the steps in the wiki step-by-step, doens't work. I even tried wicd, doesn't work

Describe "doesnt work" - those words don't really say anything useful at all.

Make sure with your interfaces you put a '!' in front of the one you want NM to manage
INTERFACES=(lo eth0 !wlan0)

You should disable the "network" daemon altogether if you plan on using network manager. In the daemons array just put a "!" in front of network
