Custom Kernel... first time...

Hi,

I'm all set up to make my own custom kernel

want to know where in PKGBUILD these flags should go?

-march=athlon-xp -mfpmath=sse -msse -mmmx -m3dnow

or will adding them not make that much difference ?

Or have I got this wrong and they are only used with gcc compiler... :?

Re: Custom Kernel... first time...

I use "make menuconfig" method instead.(takes 10 min)
no nead for fiddling with compiler settings.... big_smile

Use sudo.

Re: Custom Kernel... first time...

you can also use the multiple kernels PKGBUILD from the wiki.  then change /etc/makepkg.conf to reflect your optimizations.
