Custom Kernel... first time...

Hi,

I'm all set up to make my own custom kernel

want to know where in PKGBUILD these flags should go?

-march=athlon-xp -mfpmath=sse -msse -mmmx -m3dnow

or will adding them not make that much difference ?

Or have I got this wrong and they are only used with gcc compiler... :?

I use "make menuconfig" method instead.(takes 10 min)
no nead for fiddling with compiler settings....

you can also use the multiple kernels PKGBUILD from the wiki. then change /etc/makepkg.conf to reflect your optimizations.

I am trying to use sudo... I assume thats its set up to allow me to use root commands as user ???

anyway trying sudo I get...

sudo pacman -Syu
Broken pipe

Maybe I should read the manual ... lol
