Problem

okay i was trying to run sudo pacman -Syu and ignore the upgrade package of madwifi that i added to pacman /etc/pacman.conf but when i went to pacman -Syu got an error and then i fixed it. now i cant seem to do a pacman -Syu it says a packagamaneger after i restarted and i removed the /var/lib/pacman/db.lck and now i can't even runn the command anyway i can fix this?

What do you mean that now you can't even run the command? What's the output of "pacman -Syu" now?

dude, I think you need to run sudo rm /var/lib/pacman/db.lck
You had some sort of problem before you restarted so the package manager locked itself.
There might be a better way to do this, but I've done that a number of times, and it has seemed perfectly fine.
EDIT: oops, forgot the sudo.
