KDE4.1 System Tray Bug

http://www.petaimg.com/uploads/1216854621.png

If you look at my screen shot above, you'll notice a gray box behind each system tray icon. Is there a way to fix this? It's really annoying to look at and makes some icons hard to see.

Re: KDE4.1 System Tray Bug

It's not a bug, I'll tell you that smile

The day Microsoft makes a product that doesn't suck, is the day they make a vacuum cleaner.

But if they tell you that I've lost my mind, maybe it's not gone just a little hard to find...

Re: KDE4.1 System Tray Bug

Its not a bug in KDE, but rather the "new stuff" they are using...

AFAIK there are several reasons:

- Plasma uses ARGB, which triggers a lot of bugs in drivers and/or is not supported properly yet. Not because it wasnt there before, but because plasma is actually one of the first apps that uses this stuff extensively
- The freedesktop sytray spec is not really mature

IIRC this will be fixed with 4.3 at the latest, so stay tuned smile

want a modular and tweaked KDE for arch? try kdemod
