Re: Arch Case Badges

I'm also interested in some (I think two, maybe even more, but two for very sure) but:
1.) As I'm not the only german one, I would say that one person from Germany receives all badges for the "german market" and he sends them to the others. I think it could be cheaper for us.
2.) flat
3.) silver
4.) I think it's ok!

Great idea - I own the keychain, and I've got a 'standard' badge for my laptop bag, so why not go with a laptop sticker too? cool

3) White.

4) $4.00 by paypal? Only because it's Arch and I love you guys big_smile

Re: Arch Case Badges

I'm definitely interested. I think a mix of colors would be nice, but at least silver. The logo would be in blue still, right? Black background color would be awesome to. Absolutely, flat would be better. I'll buy some at those prices if you get it set up. Can you set up bulk deals? Increasing discounts for buying say, 5,10,20,50,100+ at once?

Re: Arch Case Badges

Yes, I will set up a bulk deal. To satisfy those that don't like paypal, I am currently investigating using google checkout for this storefront. This might come in handy if we want to sell other items in the future (I'm thinking about Arch USB keys already.)

I am in the process of placing an order for 100 badges. I'm trying to get some white and some on a silver background to satisfy everyone. They will be selling for $2.25 a piece (w00t, price drop before release! :-D). I will be shipping to Canada and Europe from here hopefully for 52 cents to Canada, $1.60 to Europe. US badges will be shipped from Simo's location (behind phrakture) for hopefully 42 cents or whatever the going price for lettermail in the USA. Combined shipments will have different prices since we may have to mail in a padded envelope or parcel, I don't think we can get away with putting more than one or two in a single envelope.

Thanks for everyone's support, I was so surprised by the amount of interest here that I decided to get 100 instead of 50 in the first order, and may well be reordering quite soon if they sell as well as the other Schwag!

Well it seems like a nice place, I've never been there, but koalas and kangaroos and crocodiles can't be wrong can they?

I assume it will be $1.60 to Australia as well. You're commonwealth so I'm sure mail over there can't be all that exotically priced.

For now, I am going to operate on the assumption that letters will be $1.60 to all non-US/Canada destinations. If I find out different at the post office I will either eat the difference or come back to you with a quote.

Re: Arch Case Badges

Minor update folks, the badges have been printed and are enroute to one Simo 'neotuli' Leone (class A troublemaker). I'm working on some goofy form processing stuff using google documents because I'm too lazy to set up a django instance to do it properly. Give me a break, I django all day, then I django for Arch at night.

Should be accepting orders in a week or so, assuming I have enough time to set stuff up.

Re: Arch Case Badges

Not that I'm counting, I need at least one for my laptop and one for my new Skulltrail system that I should be putting together today. I'll also need another for the system that the Skulltrail is replacing, which is probably heading to my office at the University. Hmm... well, maybe a fourth just to make it a nice and round number. So, 4 for me, please.

Re: Arch Case Badges

Hmmm... I might start researching the USB drives. It'd be an interesting project. Anyone think we should ship them with something useful on them? For instance, the installer?

I've already looked into it a little bit, they aren't tough to find, but they are a bit pricey. I don't think there would be much sense in putting an installer on there, archers know how to download installers and it'd be a big job to do that for each drive. Much easier to just ship them out.

On the other hand, if you think you have time for it we could also sell some cd or dvd repo snapshots too.
