Here's the problem:
at startup and shutdown, it keeps saying "rc.conf: Unexpected end of file at line #98"
and, the rc.conf isn't followed. None of my daemons load, and that's why I've been having problems. Can you guys please post your rc.conf's and try to decipher the problem?

I don't know if this will help, but change your ROUTES line to (!gateway) since you don't have a gateway.

You are missing quotes at lo="127.0.0.1, try lo="lo 127.0.0.1"

that's solved. But it still says "unexpected end of file" will some one please just paste their rc.conf? it will simplify things. Atleast paste the DAEMONS part till the end
