buggy ff3/minefield?

anyone else noticing any right-click bugginess with minefield? when I right click to do something, sometimes it's like it will pick one of the options and just do it randomly instead of allowing me to pick something. so for example, on a single right click, the tab might just close, or get added as a bookmark, or part of the page gets removed with "remove it permanently." the menu doesn't even come up, it just does the action. just wondering if this is a ff3 bug other people have noticed, or if maybe it's one of the extensions that's causing it.

No, never. Sounds related to gtk. Maybe your gtk engine has something to do with it.

hmm, gtk seems fine otherwise. do you mean gtk2? that seems okay too, though. how could I find out if either of them were to blame?

Re: buggy ff3/minefield?

Yeah I have the same thing. But it happens very rarely, can't remember the last time (maybe since spookyet's version it disappeared)

It hasn't bothered me though. I'm not sure what exactly happens. I have a reduced amount of items in the right click menu thanks to userstyles add-on which may have reduced the problem.
Only thing I remember is when right clicking an image to right click "view image" to open it in a new tab, it would open immediately after the first right click. It happened very very rarely.

Re: buggy ff3/minefield?

Procyon: exactly. it happens so randomly it's hard to figure out what's causing it. maybe i'll try the userstyles addon you mentioned, maybe it's some element in random pages that's causing it (though I use adblock, flashblock, noscript, etc.)

Re: buggy ff3/minefield?

FF3 tends to crash a lot when I am using an AJAX web site, such as Gmail, Google Docs, etc.  It seems to work better without the Adblock Plus add-on, but then I get a lot of ads sad

I have switched to Swiftfox for the time being (for Athlon64 that is), and it hasn't bonked out on me once since I started using it last week, even with the Adblock add-on.

Re: buggy ff3/minefield?

I just had it happen again.

I had a large picture open and I right clicked it to save it and it immediately went to Properties. I think I dragged a little bit with the right mouse button, but I'm not sure if that caused it.

So userstyles doesn't fix it. Anyway the style within userstyles I use is "Ffx context-menu: extreme minimalism!" if you're wondering.

Re: buggy ff3/minefield?

I have no problems with the menus or crashing at all with FF3 on either of my computers. I tend to agree with dolby in that it sounds like a problem with GTK themes and not FF.

I would try changing the theme and see if that happens again. The best one to choose in my opinion is the basic Clearlooks.

Re: buggy ff3/minefield?

I use Yattacier3. I like it, and the problem is not serious enough to change.

Re: buggy ff3/minefield?

I have the same problem with Bookmarks and History. When I click them for the first time (first time since I opened firefox), it always choses the first item on the list (bookmarks: Bookmark this page, History: Back). It is really anoying. After it has happened once it doesn't happen until I close firefox and open it again.
