hello all!!!
i'm collecting these csv files which one can download from online bank site for almost 2 and a half years.
now i need a program with which i can import these files to watch them in a clear way. i tried homebank and QBankManager. both should import these file types, but they don't.
any suggestions?

What do you mean with "watch them"?
Why dont you keep downloading and import them in OpenOffice Calc?

i tried opening them in office calc, but they are totally messed up.
till now i watched and searched them in vim, but i have now about 30 csv files. and it's getting confusing.
i need a program with which i can get an overview over these files.
btw: can someone please explain this to me:

Why are they messed up?
When you import them into OpenOffice Calc you can decide the Seperator ( ; or | or ...) and then they will show up in the table.
Did this with many cvs-Files.

how?
the other problem is that i also have duplicate entries. i also want to filter them out.

File => Open => Select the csv-File
Then select the seperator (in this screenshot i would need the ";")

Maybe you could give an example of the content of your csv-file?

thanks rebugger! i missed that.
now i opened the csv file in office calc. but as i said it's not really useful, because i have many double entries. i want to merge all 32 files and omit duplicate entries.
however, i got qbankmanager running, but it's totally cluttered.
is there no sane banking program out there????
homebank looks nice in the screenshots, but i cannot get it running....
does no one use such an app?

Well there are methods to remove duplicate entrys in OpenOffice Calc... for example:
http://blogs.sun.com/oootnt/entry/remov … ws_in_calc
http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/ … f=9&t=5379
But it sounds like you want to use qBankmanager...

yeah, i want to use a similar application.
the point is that i don't really need the whole stuff provided by qbankmanager. i imported the csv files in qbankmanager, bt i needed about 15mins to find the interface where this entries ar listed....
perhaps the most sane way is simply using openoffice.
thanks rebugger.
if anyone knows another application please tell....

Well you can do a lot of stuff with Calc and some formulas...

If your files have a csv extension, this might do what you want:
cat *.csv | sort | uniq > merged.csv

hey thanks, that's great!
i never heard of "uniq". this is the best idea till now.
i discovered hibiscus, a java app. but all the interfaces are way too much.
i think i'll simply merge all the files as you said and stick with vim.

ps: that's annoying! i wasted 2 hours checking crappy apps and the best idea is so simple!
thanks again nj!
