Maintaining Arch Linux system

I've only had Arch linux on my laptop for the last one month--I'm a newbie in other words. One thing that trips me up. What are the weekly, monthly or daily maintainence routine? Anything I need to clear out? I do know that there's no need to defrag or reinstall linux. However, what about the programs you've uninstalled? Anything I need to clean up?

Another thing, is it possible to list the applications installed in your box(make removing applications I don't use anymore easier at a glance)? I feel the urge for some housekeeping on my Arch linux, but am clueless on where to start.

Hi smile
You should read about pacman, which is a package manage in Arch. It's responsible for [un]installing and upgrading programs. You can read about it here http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pacman
