Hi all. I'm recently having troubles when pacman -Su (already done pacman -Sy)
I have installed kdemod3 and I never had problems when upgrading. I usualy update my sistem every day. Today, pacman shows me this message
bash-3.2# pacman -Su
:: Starting full system upgrade...
resolving dependencies...
looking for inter-conflicts...
:: kdelibs conflicts with kdemod-kdelibs. Remove kdemod-kdelibs? [Y/n] y
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: kdemod-gtk-qt-engine: requires kdemod-kdelibs>=3.5.8
:: kdemod-kde-i18n-pt: requires kdemod-kdelibs>=3.5.9
:: kdemod-kdeaddons-base: requires kdemod-kdelibs>=3.5.9
:: kdemod-kdebase: requires kdemod-kdelibs>=3.5.9
:: kdemod-kdegames-base: requires kdemod-kdelibs>=3.5.9
:: kdemod-kdegraphics-base: requires kdemod-kdelibs>=3.5.9
:: kdemod-kdemultimedia-base: requires kdemod-kdelibs>=3.5.9
:: kdemod-kdenetwork-base: requires kdemod-kdelibs>=3.5.9
:: kdemod-kdepim-base: requires kdemod-kdelibs>=3.5.9
:: kdemod-kdesdk-base: requires kdemod-kdelibs>=3.5.9

:: kdemod-kdewebdev-base: requires kdemod-kdelibs>=3.5.9
:: kdemod-kdmtheme: requires kdemod-kdelibs>=3.5.9
Or this
bash-3.2# pacman -Su
:: Starting full system upgrade...
resolving dependencies...
looking for inter-conflicts...
:: kdelibs conflicts with kdemod-kdelibs. Remove kdemod-kdelibs? [Y/n] n
error: unresolvable package conflicts detected
error: failed to prepare transaction (conflicting dependencies)
:: kdelibs: conflicts with kdemod-kdelibs
I can't seem to find the solution... Sorry my english.
Any help is apreciated. Thanks

It's because KDE4 was pushed to extra. I'm having the same problem.

I suspect this will get worked out once the kdemod people get their packages reworked, shouldn't be too far behind.

All kde3 users will have these kind of problems. All kde3 related packages changed with their kde4 versions. Kde3 related packages should be available on repos, may be with a prefix like -kde3, for who wants to keep using KDE3. I' m compiling ktorrent and yakuake from my old abs tree (thank Allah, i have forgotten to update it). I just reversed back from kde4.1; because it's still buggy and i don't want to waste time to solve them, for now. I just need an usable KDE. I have no time to try KDE 4.1 bug fixing. I may give another try it for next KDE4 revisions.Thanks...
Edit:Typo

The bug was solved but I still have this problem with a few packages such as: konversation kradio kchmviewer Any ideas?

I followed the instructions as per the kdemod site. Uninstalled all things kde. Changed repo to legacy, reinstalled kdemod but in the process knetworkmanager was removed. Now when I try and re-install it I get the same conflict and I can't install. There doesn't seem to be a knetworkmanager in the kdemod repo...
Any suggestions welcomed.
Cheers,
Arkay.
