configure external usb touchpad in Xorg.conf

Hello good people,

I have an external usb touchpad that I purchased recently and while it works out of the box, I find it almost impossible to use because of the lack of sensitivity.

So, my question.

Can someone point me in the right direction for creating an entry in X which is specific to this mouse so I might adjust things like the sensitivity etc for this mouse only. Not sure if this is possible but I thought I'd ask.

Here is the output from dmesg when I plug it in if that helps:

usb 6-2: USB disconnect, address 2
usb 6-2: new low speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 3
usb 6-2: new device found, idVendor=0488, idProduct=0020
usb 6-2: new device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=0
usb 6-2: Product: USB GlidePoint
usb 6-2: Manufacturer: Cirque Corporation
usb 6-2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
input: Cirque Corporation USB GlidePoint as /class/input/input10
input: USB HID v1.00 Mouse [Cirque Corporation USB GlidePoint] on usb-0000:00:1d.1-2

Perhaps I should also add that this mouse is being used on a laptop which has a built in touchpad and point stick. I don't want to mess those up.

For those of you wondering why on earth I'm using an external touchpad when my laptop already has one, the reason is that I have my laptop on a riser and so the keyboard and touchpad are not accessible. So I use an external mouse and keyboard.

Thanks for any help

Re: configure external usb touchpad in Xorg.conf

Well I'd love to help me but then I have the same problem that I'm trying to solve so perhaps someone else might have some ideas?
