kde4 ark

Hi

I have noticed that when using ark I need to expend every folder after opening the archive
to extract it. If not I only get an empty directory.

Have you got the same issue?

Yes. The same here. It's was very frustrating until I figured out how to unpack archives.

Cheers!

Re: kde4 ark

I just use the command line util unrar. I can't open password protected archives with ark. :S

Yeah, bash rocks. I couldn't extract anything with Ark since the upgrade to 4.1. One good thing is that one of 4.2 goals is „much improvements in Ark". But stable 4.2 is scheduled for… January.

Re: kde4 ark

A little trick that did it for me:
Open Dolphin, go to Settings -> Configure Dolphin, enable "Browse through archives" in the General tab. That will let you navigate though compressed files, so just copy everything inside the file to another folder to decompress smile

Hope it helps.
