Any way to solve the Intel glx/composite bug?

With the i810 and intel Xorg drivers, composite and OpenGL clash. With a composite manager enabled - even a non-GLX one like xcompmgr - GL graphics *always* show above everything. For example:

screen739.png.xs.jpg

As you can see, glxgears shows right through the firefox window.

I'm pretty tired of this bug, and I'm sure others must be too. Has anyone here figured out a workaround?

Maybe something with double buffer or triple buffer extensions ?

Re: Any way to solve the Intel glx/composite bug?

I have the same problem. It's very annoying and made me turn off those composite things.

I also asked this on the forum some months ago, and nobody knew an answer back then either.

Is this also limited to only intel?

Has it been filed as a bug report upstream?

I have an intel chipset (i915), and I have this problem too. It isn't that bad, just bothersome at times. I don't run into it very often.

Arch FTW!!!
