mozilla won't start

Hiya.. smile

I installed Mozilla via pacman and everything seemed to work find but when I tried to run it, it said:

No fonts available- check fonts.conf or goto fontconfig.org

Did pacman somehow miss a needed fonts package for mozilla?  Or, could it be that WindowMaker is missing fonts?

AND,

where is fonts.conf?  Checked /etc/ and /etc/X11

Re: mozilla won't start

This is an issue with XFree 4.3. I also had this but running "fc-cache" and then "fc-cache -v" as root should resolve this problem.  There are other threads on the board about this too, so I'm trying to recall from memory if that is the correct command to issue, but I'm pretty sure it is.

Re: mozilla won't start

some issue with mozilla also arise from upgrades. if you upgrade and it does not start one thing you can try is to:

rm -rf /opt/mozilla

then

pacman -S mozilla

occassionally some "lint" is left behind that is not properly removeed/replaced by pacman and only the full removal of the mozilla directory in /opt will do the trick.
