hey, first post. i am yet to be an archuser. i want to build a computer for it but i want to make sure it won't have any hardware issues. i decided intel e7200 2.53ghz for the job. the problem is i don't have much money to spend on the motherboard. i have two matx mobos in my mind. one of them is a gigabyte ga-73pvm-s2h (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6813128072). it is an nForce 630i with geforce 7100 integrated graphics. the other one is an intel boxdg31pr (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6813121323) it is an intel ich7/g31 mobo with gma3100 integrated graphics. i want to choose the most problem-free for linux in terms of driver installation.
there may have been some grammar issues in my question as english isn't my native language, sorry. thank you.

What are you going to be doing on the PC? That would help in deciding where priority should be placed.

If you're not concerned about 3D performance, I would go for an Intel system with G33 or G35 chipset. Be sure to get a board with DVI support, either onboard or using a DVI ADD2 card. My Gigabyte board which works 100% fine with linux came without such a card, I used the one from my old Asrock board without problems.

i dont play a lot of games. generally i watch movies (hd? rarely but yes) and anime, do php/rails development and use gimp. i have to pick one of these two cards for now. the gigabyte looks better as it has more outputs (dvi, hdmi, firewire, raid even esata!) and they say its better for ocing. as the intel, i don't know it look old and 7100 kills x3100 in any aspects.. i think i will give gb a go.

Eunuch: I've used Gigabyte boards in the last two PC's I've built and have found them to be very reliable. One of them has been running Arch for nearly a year now with no problems. I have not used the board you linked, though.

+1 for gigabyte. I have a similiar board (no integrated graphics) in a box I built last summer - I haven't used arch on it (I'm new to this distro) but it runs ubuntu/debian just fine.
