Kde4.1 and dark color themes

Wonders if anyone knows the answer to this color theme problem:

System Settings, Appearance, Colors
Pick any dark color theme
Apply colors to non-KDE4 applications
Apply

Open Firefox, goto Google.com

Note how the search text entry field will be shown with a dark color and black text making it entirely impossible to see what you are entering in this field.  (Same for text input fields and buttons with text on websites.)

WTF?  Every dark color theme I have tried has this problem. Is there a fix?

There shouldn't be any reason to learn more editor types than emacs or vi -- mg (1)

Thanks Angry Clown from Hell!

But I was looking for a quicker fix than learning how to change

Re: Kde4.1 and dark color themes

I can see two possible fixes.
dolby's fix or just having kde not force it's theme on non-kde applications.
That is annoying in of itself I think, but if you install all the gtk2 themes and engines you can make them appear more ot what you would want.  I personally like the different looks in applications, so Im probably wierd in that respect.
On your colors dialog on the Scheme tab there should be a check box for apply colors to non-KDE4 applications.  Uncheck that and you won't have to worry about the background issue on Firefox, but as I stated before you will have to play around with the GTK switcher if you want to have a look similar to your desktop colors.
