display app not working well with fbsetbg

I use fbsetbg to set the wallpaper on all my machines. On one of them I've been getting a popop saying:

fbsetbg: Something went wrong while setting the wallpaper.
Run 'display -backdrop -window root /home/xxx/background.jpg' from an xterm to find out what.

but the wallpaper is set OK. I tried runing the command from a terminal there are no errors and again, the wallpaper sets.

I've worked out that the difference between the machines is that the others have eterm installed so the fbsetbg script uses Esetroot but the one that gives the error doesn't so it uses display.

I haven't got time to work out why display is causing the error but still appears to work correctly. My guess is the return codes have changed so fbsetbg thinks it is failing when it isn't.

I've now installed eterm and the error has gone away.

I'm reporting this here just in case anyone else is having the problem and wants to know an easy way to fix it.
