eclipse java null pointer

I just installed eclipse, and it will not start. I have tried running /etc/profile.d/eclipse.sh & it still falls over after the splash screen.

I also tried re-installing everything, j2re - the lot

Twinhead laptop, mobile P4 350M ram,
kernel 2.6.8mm and 2.6.8 4 udev

Error message is todo with a null execption from java.
