Cannot boot after installing splashy

I tried installing splashy, via the arch guide but after it finished i couldnt boot.  At the time i could still log in as root and get to a terminal and trying to get back to my original state, i tried to work through the guide backwards. unfortunatly that all went to hell and now when i boot, it asks me what runlevel i want to go into, and no matter which one i choose it tells me that there are no processes, and as far as i can tell, crashes.  I would really like to get my system back without having to reinstall, is there any way?

Re: Cannot boot after installing splashy

Post your /boot/grub/menu.lst,rc.conf, and mkinitcp.conf and we will see what we can do.
