How do I remove the Search bar at the top of the new KDE 4.1 menu? I have checked the KDE settings, configurations, and other locations and I can not seem to find it. Also, at the bottom of the menu are multiple tabs for Favorites, Applications, Computer, etc. Is there anyway to reduce the size of these icons? I am trying to reduce the size of the menu so it does not take up 1/3 of the screen and I think these two things will help reduce the size and I am not sure if these are options not yet available or I am totally missing the obvious.

Not sure how to remove the searsch bar, but there is a resize handle in the top right corner (next to the kde desktop icon/link) that is draggable. Using that you can change the height and width of the menu.

Yes, I have tried to use the resize handle but it will only allow me to change the height. That's why I thought the Search bar and/or the icons/tabs at the bottom were preventing me from changing the width. I just now tried it again, same problem.

Or you could just use the Classic Menu?

thats what i was going to suggest as well, the classic menu
i actually like the search bar personally. i just wish i could use the windows key to open the menu, rather than alt+f1.
