Hi,
When i put a dvd/cd in the diskdrive arch doesnt automount it, i can mount it manually and i added myself to the optical group. I have searched on google but didnt find a answer, also when i automount a dvd i cant play it in vlc or totem:/

i think HAL is incharge of automounting. Pacman -S hal and add "hal" to your daemons array in rc.conf

I already installed Hal & Fam, i followed the wiki for the install, i use gnome and usb keys do automount

You'll need to be in the storage group also for USB flash drives.

If you have entries for the optical drives in /etc/fstab these sometimes conflict with HAL, try commenting them out

Try to comment dvd, cdrom in /etc/fstab.
Also try these commands:
# gpasswd -a user optical
# gpasswd -a user storage
# gpasswd -a user disk
# gpasswd -a user hal
# gpasswd -a user dbus
Oh, logout and login to check

thanks it works now, i think this should be described in the beginners guide, because lot' s of people use cd/dvd' s
