iwl4965 wont go to channel 12, 13

I have the above problem. 
By using the command iwconfig wlan0 channel 12 it complanes about invalid argument and gives me an error code.
The other channels work fine. I'm using the iwl4965 drivers with the ucode from the repo.

That is most likely due to different laws. In some country there is no channel 12 and 13. Find a possibility to define your region

I just did an iwlist wlan0 channel and saw that after channel 11 it goes in 5GHz channels. The card probably doesnt supports it or the drivers dont.
