KDE 4.1 hangs at boot after latest upgrade

hi all

Kde 4.1 freezes at boot since latest update with usual command 'pacman -Syu' (upgraded to kernel   2.6.26.2-1). Then I can do nothing : Ctrl+Alt+Backspace or Crtl+Alt+F1 doest not work anymore. It's stuck.

Any idea someone ?
Thanks in advance.

Re: KDE 4.1 hangs at boot after latest upgrade

Same issue here, it seems to be an issue with the nvidia-173.14.12-2 package (see the "nvidia broke" discussion). I've downgraded to previous versions (kernel26-2.6.25.11-1 and nvidia-173.14.12-1)  and all is well. I had to reboot into single user mode to get a command prompt (*sigh*), from there I did the following to downgrade:

# cd /var/cache/pacman/pkg
# pacman -R nvidia
# pacman -U kernel26-2.6.25.11-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz
# pacman -U nvidia-utils-173.14.12-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz
# reboot

NOTE: package names will be slightly different if you're using Arch64.

Re: KDE 4.1 hangs at boot after latest upgrade

Thanks for your quick answer. Happily the latest nvidia 173.14.12-3 drivers solve the problem.
