I'm testing OSS4 on a not so crucial system before I decide whether I will use it on my main. Sound is good and pretty much everything concerning playback and recording is working as expected. On problem though:
- stoping OSS with /etc/rc.d/oss-linux-free hangs with modprobe causing close to 100 % load
- the above also applies to shutdown; the shutdown process hangs on stoping the OSS driver
I've looked for a solution on the appropriate forum as well, but not found any relevant answer. Before starting a thread over there I ask here for support since it could be something Arch specific.

One more attempt to get some attention. I've been looking and looking for an already published workaround or solution, but haven't found any.
I've now unfortunately switched back to ALSA but am still interested in choosing OSS4 as it looks more promising and has a cleaner solution to some of the issues with ALSA in Linux.
