[SOLVED] no sound with audigy 2 after kernel 2.6.26.2-1 upgrade

Hello
today i upgraded my system with pacman and after reboot my audigy 2 stopped working... i read that many have problem with the kernel upgrade...i think it's my problem too... So what can i do?

Additional info would be very helpful.
-Was the kernel the only change in the system?
-Were there any error messages? If yes, what were they?
-Did it crash? Or was there just 'no sound'?

sorry, you're right...

1) these are the package that pacman updates today:

[2008-08-11 10:36] upgraded klibc-extras (2.4-1 -> 2.4-2)
[2008-08-11 10:36] upgraded klibc-kbd (1.15.20080312-5 -> 1.15.20080312-6)
[2008-08-11 10:36] upgraded klibc-module-init-tools (3.2.2-3 -> 3.4-1)
[2008-08-11 10:36] upgraded klibc-udev (116-3 -> 116-4)
[2008-08-11 10:36] upgraded lirc-utils (0.8.2-1 -> 0.8.3-1)
[2008-08-11 10:36] upgraded man-pages (3.05-1 -> 3.06-1)
[2008-08-11 10:36] upgraded tzdata (2008d-1 -> 2008e-1)

2) no error messages at all;

3)no crash, only no sound...

What does 'alsamixer' say? and are the modules for the soundcard running? Sorry, I forgot to ask that earlier.

alsaconf has never recognized *my* Audigy 2 (now upgraded to a 4).

The good news is that Audigy models are easy to get working. I've been ranting about them for years

kcr, show an *error message*. Look in dmesg, /var/log/whatever, run alsamixer.

Now it works....
i re-installed alsa and now it works perfectly...

I think that mentioned issue may be related to this change in 2.6.26.2 - "ALSA: emu10k1 - Fix inverted Analog/Digital mixer switch on Audigy2" (http://kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v2.6 … g-2.6.26.2).
