[SOLVED]MPD Dont want to start on Boot

welll Hello. I am useing MPD and as a client Sonata. Added MPD into /etc/rc.conf daemons to start mpd on boot up, but it dont want to start. Chechked mpd and bootup errors logs, they are empty.

did you created and edited the /etc/mpd.conf file?

what do you get if you try to start mpd from shell as root? post any errors of this:

$ mpd --verbose /etc/mpd.conf

you could also try

mpd --verbose --stdout /etc/mpd.conf

Yes, i did everything step by step.

RaisedFist: First command didint worked. Second everything was fine probably. Error logs are still empty.

pls post your mpd.conf

before you can start mpd, you have to write the collection: as root: mpd

In btw solved problem in other way. Made a script for launching MPD and added it to Sessions -> Startup

#!/bin/bash
sleep 10 &&
mpd &
exit

So it works.

I've also had this problem, but the problem was bad cfg. You just need to set right mpd writable directory. E.g.
state_file "~/.mpd/mpdstate"
#state_file "/var/lib/mpd/mpdstate"

pid_file "~/.mpd/mpd.pid"
#pid_file "/var/run/mpd/mpd.pid"
