Hi folks,
I'm prepared to download the latest version of Arch to be installed as guest on a Virtual Machine, KVM. On the download site I found;
archlinux-2008.06-core-x86_64.img
archlinux-2008.06-core-x86_64.iso
To my understanding *img is for guest on Virtual Machine. Please advise which of them I have to download. Whether archlinux-2008.06-core-x86_64.img is ready to run as guest on a Virtual Machine without going through installation. TIA

The img files are intented for installation from USB sticks (and probably hdds). I don't know any site which has prepared VMs for download, that doesn't mean there isn't one though .

Hi Garns,
Thanks for your advice.

I don't know whether I can make use of it for installation as guest. I'm uncertain here. On guest installation I also need an image/iso image. I can't run it directly on a Virtual Machine.

I'll download archlinux-2008.06-core-x86_64.iso and install it as guest here. Thanks.

For the record, there are (outdated) Arch Linux "appliances" available for VMWare here; however, since you're using KVM, I don't suppose you'll find them useful....
Noted and thanks
