Failing to reboot - rc.shutdown line 96 error

Hi,

I haved 2 up-to-date arch installs and both fail to reboot.  Part of what I see, just from memory:

rc.shutdown line 96 4224 seg fault
INIT: no more processes at this run level.

Then it just hangs there.

if you have a bugtracker account leave a bug immediately. just go through the last few bugs to make sure your issue was not already taken care of.

Re: Failing to reboot - rc.shutdown line 96 error

It was my fault, I enabled APIC in the bios and it is working now.  The funny thing is that I am sure it is enabled on my other computer (not where I am now).  Maybe it depends upon the bios setting at install.  I have two ECS boards that often loses cmos settings at reboot so APIC can change from boot to boot.

Thanks.

perhaps APIC seems to be a troublemaker for many.
