Hi all,
I've been having issues with getting kdemod3 working. Every time I login to KDE (or even try to start a kde program in another DE), it gives me an error in a pop-up window:
There was an error setting up interprocess communication for KDE. The message returned by the system was:
Could not read network connection list.
/home/$USER/.DCOPserver_linn__0
Please check that the dcopserver program is running!
I tried executing dcopserver in /opt/kde/bin, but to no avail. If it makes any difference (and it may), I'm using x86_64.
Thanks!!
EDIT: I solved my problem. It turns out I logged in as root on accident once, and that screwed everything up. Re-installing and deleting the ~/.kde directory fixed my problem. A word of advice: DON'T LOG IN AS ROOT IN KDE, EVER!!
