Monitor won't power off

Hi,

I'm running KDEmod 4.1, with Power Control settings (under System Settings -> Display -> Power Control) set to:

Standby: 10 minutes
Suspend: 20 minutes
Power off: 30 minutes

However, the monitor doesn't seem to do any of these things.   I'm not sure why, but it's extremely annoying when I need to leave my laptop on at night, as it sits on my desk next to my bed.

I'm not sure if my monitor is 'Energy Star Compliant', though, and the Help section states that it needs to be in order for the power saving settings to work.   However, my monitor has always gone off in the past with Gnome, and KDE 3.5 as well, I think, and of course in Windows XP.

Re: Monitor won't power off

Do you have

    Option "DPMS"

setting specified in the "Monitor" section in xorg.conf?

Re: Monitor won't power off

Possibly, maybe even probably wink  It could help, and it certainly won't hurt.

DPMS = Display Power Management Signaling
