Strange noises from the subwoofer

Hi to all
I have a little problem with my audio speaker, when I listen to music, especially with music with a lot of bass sound and with high volume, I can't hear clearly because the songs are disturbed from many noises like the kick sounds in a techno song.
I very don't like techno and similar kind of music and I'm learning bass guitar and can't hear clearly the bass lines so is very annoying lol.
I can't adjust this problem with alsamixer.

A friend of mine say that i need an equalizer, do I really need this kind of software for simply listen to music or the speaker are broken?
It's a 2.1 speaker from Olidata (an italian company).
I listen to music with mpd and sonata but it's the same with other software.
