Info
There is a new US mirror:
http://www.schlunix.org/archlinux
Hint: This mirror tries to hold also version of packages which are outdated, good for downgrading.
Offline
ftp://ftp.las.ic.unicamp.br (Brazil)
Seems that the ftp root path have been changed during server maintaince. The distro repository reside no more in /pub, but in / of the ftp server. I've contact the admins if this is a permament change or a mistake.
So at the moment modify your pacman mirrorlist for this mirror (ftp) to:
ftp://ftp.las.ic.unicamp.br/archlinux
instead of
ftp://ftp.las.ic.unicamp.br/pub/archlinux
ftp.belnet.be (Belgium)
This mirror is currently online and in sync, but last week there a a lot of downtimes and outdated repos. Seems they have some problems with underlying hardware and must restore often from old backups. So keep this in mind if you use this mirror.
Offline
ftp://ftp.las.ic.unicamp.br (Brazil)
They have corrected the path on ftp server. So no need for change something. Old/new path is:
ftp://ftp.las.ic.unicamp.br/pub/archlinux

The outdated mirrors could have this problem during the kde4.1 upgrade where massive rsync transfers must be done. Maybe...

I get a strange error message when I try to pacman -Syy or pacman -Syu or when I just try to download a program. This is happening on both my laptops and desktop. Here is an example of what happens. I can do this with any package and I get the same basic error.
[root@patrick-laptop ~]# pacman -S abs

I saw several mails on arch-general mailinglist from other users which seems to have also problems with this mirror. I have not seen any problem during my mirror check, but i only download a small file. I've test do downlaod a bigger file and this works for (~300Kb/s) here from Germany.
This could be bandwith issue on mirror side or maybe a routing problem. You could temporary switch to an other US mirror.
