[SOLVED] arch64: FF3 & opera 9.52 flash animation but no sound

Hi,

here yet another flash on x64 issue. i am running arch64 with both opera (copied the .so from adobe itself to plugin dir with native wrapper) and FF3 (with nspluginwrapper and I ran the CLI stuff afterwards).

Flash is working fine for me at least visually. I have no sound in either browser when running flash movies (youtube and stuff).  I did install lib32-alsa-support to no avail. what am i missing here?

i tried installing bith lib32-libflashsupport-pulse and libflashsupport-pulse but both error out on me (on the eula missing and on libopenssl) besides i use alsa and not pulse-audio yet.

thanks, stefan

I presume you mean you installed lib32-alsa-lib, because that did the trick for me.

I also assume that sound works otherwise.

You might want to see if there is an error message if you start firefox from a terminal and then try a flash movie.

hi,

thanks so far! yes i did mean the lib32-alsa-lib and sound is fine apart from flash.

CLI

for FF3 i installed adobe flash 9 and 10 beta and nspluginwrapper and ran the plugin install command. i have a npwrapper.libflash.so in the plugin folder. For opera i installed flashplayer-opera64 from AUR which should work with the native wrapper.....but isn' t.

Re: [SOLVED] arch64: FF3 & opera 9.52 flash animation but no sound

well it is solved now, for no apparant reason. i ran 'alsaconf' again and reinstalled the intel driver + restarted alsa (even though KDE sounds were working fine) i also ran alsamixer to check the levels and now flash sound works.

odd though.
