I install Arch and everything works great. I have Gnome installed. When I restart, however, I get the boot process stops with this:
"ACPI: EC: non-query interrupt received, switching to interrupt mode
ACPI: EC: GPE storm dtected, disabling EC GPE"
How can I fix this?

I reinstalled Arch without updating anything but pacman and it worked. Now I'm afraid to update my system. What should I do?

I would start your system with the kernel option acpi=off.

How do I set that option?

I fixed it!!! For anyone else that needs this info. I just added 'acpi=off noacpi' without quotes to the end of the kernel line in /boot/grub/menu.lst!
