New gnome-common has broken all my mime types icons

today i have upgraded gnome-common and gdm, and after restarting X all my mime type icons have dissapeared, all files show the same blank icon!
It's only my problem??

did you log out then in again?

yes, i logged out then in (a few times, just to be shure)

but after removing the lines

export XDG_DATA_HOME=$XDG_DATA_HOME:/opt/gnome/share/
export XDG_DATA_DIRS=$XDG_DATA_DIRS:/opt/gnome/share/

from /etc/profile.d/gnome.sh i got the icons back.

well could you guys add those lines again and try running this as root :

update-mime-database /opt/gnome/share/mime

I added those two lines again, logged out and in and ran update-mime-database /opt/gnome/share/mime

root@arch [~] # update-mime-database /opt/gnome/share/mime
update-mime-database: I don't have write permission on /opt/gnome/share/mime.
Try rerunning me as root.

I noticed that the /opt/gnome/share/mime directory doesn't exist. However the dir /opt/gnome/share/mime-info/ does exist so i tried running update-mime-database on this directory:

root@arch [~] # update-mime-database /opt/gnome/share/mime-info/
***
* Updating MIME database in /opt/gnome/share/mime-info...
Directory '/opt/gnome/share/mime-info/packages' does not exist!

try these lines :

export XDG_DATA_HOME=$XDG_DATA_HOME:/opt/gnome/share/:/usr/share
export XDG_DATA_DIRS=$XDG_DATA_DIRS:/opt/gnome/share/:/usr/share

IMO (as a KDE user)... I don't think that this fix ("/usr/share") should stay here (in gnome-common). I think the pkg was ok in the -4 version.

export XDG_DATA_HOME=$XDG_DATA_HOME:/usr/share
export XDG_DATA_DIRS=$XDG_DATA_DIRS:/usr/share

should be put in /etc/profile.d/xorg.sh (belonging to the XOrg package, does not exist, yet) - it's a FreeDesktop.org standard anyway.

it doesn't really matter if /usr/share is twice in a patch, but do a feature request on it.
as soon as apeiro implement it i will remove it from gnome.sh.
but for so long this i a fine fix for it.

is incorrect according to the specs.
