Fonts like Windows XP firefox

I want to get into web design on linux, however, I need the fonts to render like they do in windows using firefox. I tried installing the ms fonts thing but I didn't notice the difference, and I couldn't find any helpful information about it (looked in the wiki and all) Can anyone help? This is one of the major issues i've been having with linux in general. Thanks.

"There are more effects for fonts from Windows system, this method of beautifying fonts has been tested with GNOME/Xfce/KDE. "

Re: Fonts like Windows XP firefox

Have alook at the article just posted above , and check out Gentoo's wiki aswell. IMO i think fonts look way better in Linux then windows , but they take some tweaking to get that way.
