Hi
I ran a pacman -Syu today and got the following:
checking package integrity...
(281/281) checking for file conflicts [#####################] 100%
error: could not prepare transaction
error: failed to commit transaction (conflicting files)
filesystem: /usr/local/share/man exists in filesystem
mime-types: /etc/mime.types exists in filesystem
Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.
Am I safe to remove these existing files that are blocking me upgrading?
Thanks

Yep, those are not critical -- there should be nothing inside /usr/local/share/man (perhaps a whatis file that'll get regenerated anyway by cron) and I'm quite sure /etc/mime.types only contains Java Web Start stuff.
You could also run pacman -Syuf; it'll overwrite conflicting files.

Cool thanks...
