64 Bit Arch, Catalyst 8.8, ATI Radeon 4850 Howto?

How can I get my ATI Radeon 4850 to work with catalyst 8.8 in 64 bit arch?

I have tried installing by

pacman -S catalyst

But I just get error messages when trying to run

aticonfig --initial

or

 Xorg --configure

Any help?

try:
pacman -S hwd catalyst

hwd -xa

aticonfig --initial

From the sound of it he hasn't even generate an xorg.conf file.

He has to do that first.

I have Arch64, Catalyst 8.8 and a Radeon 4850 up and running. The "aticonfig --initial" will fail if /etc/X11/xorg.conf file doesn't exist, I got around that by running "echo > /etc/X11/xorg.conf" to create an empty file.
