Open Links in new window

Can we make is so new links and Picture links open in a new window or tab .
It gets annoying having to go back to the page you were before, i know you can right click but it is easier just to ave to open in a new window?

Middle-click opens links in new tabs in Firefox, and from what I remember in Opera as well.

I agree with Zeist.
Look at it from the other point of view. What about the people who don't want to open in another window and they click on a link and it's always opening new windows! How annoying!

And if using Firefox there is  the add-on TAB MIX PLUS that just does that plus much more.

Actually, I prefer to open things in the same window. In FIrefox (and several other browsers too), ctrl + click opens stuff in a new tab for people who like it that way.
