WOW! just realized: when knoppix announces a new release, you can throw-away your old CD and you must burn a new one. But now, just overwrite your stick with a new image!

Re: FaunOS-shadow-0.5.4-stable Released

I just got a new Kingston DataTraveler 1GB, and thought I'd try the latest FaunOs.  It's not big enough...  it turns out the my 1GB is only 949 MB... FaunOS is around 966 I'll have to wait until I can clean off my other USB drive to try it...

Re: FaunOS-shadow-0.5.4-stable Released

Ok, I've installed it on my bigger USB 2GB drive.

xorg did not work by defaut, I had to boot into the non-gui menu item. Then run "X -Configure" to get another xorg.conf that would work.

#X -Configure
#cp ~/xorg.conf.new /etc/X11/xorg.conf
#/etc/rc.d/kdm start

Other than the xorg problem, Works great! Very impressed.  Using it now to write this.

Thanks for working on this!

Re: FaunOS-shadow-0.5.4-stable Released

There is a very complimentary review of FaunOS-shadow-.0.5.4 over at Raiden's Realm.  I've read a lot of his Linux reviews and he is very fair.  One of the main goals of Raiden's Realm is to promote Linux.  As such he's looking for newbie friendly distros for people interested in trying Linux.  He seems to be unusually enthusiastic about FaunOS.
