One PC Proxy

Is there any way to run a proxy+dansguardian+adzapper on a PC that will filter itself. I tried Squid, Dansguardian and Iptables but it failed majorly I was never able to get Squid running as any config changes spelled out in the wiki caused it to crash! Any help would be majorly appreciated

Shouldn't need to mess with iptables, just set the proxy details in the browser.
