Mount Digital SLR

I just recieved an old SLR as a gift, but can't manage to figure out how to access the flash memory. Normally I mount usb drives manually, but when I attach the camera via usb and turn on the camera (the lcd on the camera flashes busy) there is no listing in /dev. The camera is a canon Digital Rebel xt EOS. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Mount Digital SLR

I'd recommend gphoto2, which you can use to retrieve your pictures.

Thanks. That lead me to this, which is more in line with what I am looking for.
