kdemod 4.1 effects with Intel X3100 GM965/GL960, it is posible?

I have a dell vostro 1710, and I am trying to use the basic effects of kde 4.1...
my video is an Intel X3100 GM965/GL960

when I swith on the effects I just see the shadows of opened windows... "just" the shadows, all the rest black...

if I miss the cancel button I have to change the composite to false in console...

any idea? someone is using this video card with kde 4.1 and effects?

It would also be useful to check and make sure your xorg and intel drivers are up to date.

I have the same video card (and the same problems as you do), and I have a feeling that this is simply a bug in KDE, as I have no problems running compiz on the machine.

same here... can't stand this bug anymore...
desktop effects worked perfect with kubuntu intrepid
this is certain an archlinux bug.

also tried the xorg.conf from kubuntu which didn't help
